new dishes from leftovers!
Chicken wrap
The chicken wrap is a more sophisticated take on the humble sandwich.
Just do what you usually do with leftovers for a sandwich: shred
leftover chicken and layer with cucumber, carrots, and egg slices in a
burrito, taco or lumpia wrapper. And you’re done!
Lumpia
The great thing about lumpia is that no one knows what's inside unless
you tell them. So you don't have to take pains making your leftovers
look presentable. Just chop them all up then mix them together. The
lumpia wrapper will do the trick of attractive presentation.
Siomai
This is so simple to make, especially since you already have cooked
leftovers. Just chop your leftover meat (or even fish, why not?) then
season with spices. Make balls that will fit into wonton wrappers. Steam
or fry them to make yummy snacks. Serve with a toyo-calamansi dipping
sauce.
All-in sotanghon
Sotanghon noodles do a great job of disguising leftovers. Toss all of
them in: meat, chicken, even slice up the vegetables that have been
languishing in your refrigerator for over a week. Saute all your
toppings and season as you please. Serve piping hot for merienda with
some calamansi mixed in.
