A magnitude 4.9 quake jolted Baguio City early Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The tectonic earthquake’s epicenter was located 10 kilometers northwest of the popular summer destination, Phivolcs said.

It was felt around 12:49 a.m, state seismologists reported.

No damage or aftershocks are meanwhile expected from the quake.

The Baguio earthquake comes only days after a magnitude 4.4 tremor hit Quezon, shaking Metro Manila and other Luzon areas.

Baguio netizens also reported about the “strong” earthquake, which comes nearly 23 years after a deadly magnitude 7.9 shock that hit the city in July 1990.
